If you are looking to combine art, history, food, wine in a single day, look no further: this FLORENCE, SIENA AND CHIANTI IN ONE DAY TOUR is the ultimate Tuscany experience.
Join a small group of 18-39 years old and embark in a short (but intense!) journey through all those things Tuscan and Italy are famous for.
The day kicks off with a comprehensive tour of Florence and its wonders but first, with a visit to Florence’s biggest food market.
Here your expert local guide will present you with the typical products offered by this land and explain you how to select and distinguish the top quality ingredients.
From food to leather: the next stop will take you to another of Florence’s secular tradition: the leather market, where craftsmen preserve and pass on this old art to the future generations.
The walking tour continues through the iconic streets of Florence where one after another you will visit the city landmarks.
This foot itinerary includes all the key sights: the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore and its famous dome designed by Brunelleschi.
The Battistero and the Giotto’s Bell Tower, Piazza della Signoria and its treasures, the Uffizi gallery, Piazza della Repubblica and Ponte Vecchio.
Learn interesting facts and traditions from your tour guide as you admire the beautiful architecture of the city.
Next on the list, a bonus stop to one of Florence’s top ice cream parlorswhere you will honor another Italian tradition: make your taste buds explode with a real super-yummy gelato.
The tour now takes a break before reconvening again at the departure point. Grab a bite before the second half of your tour takes you outside Florence and on the Tuscan countryside.
After a short drive, during which the guide will give you maps, info and insider tips that only locals know, you will reach Monteriggioni.
This uniquely preserved town has managed to keep its ancient roots and old charm from medieval times.
Famous for being the set of Hollywood’s hit movie “The Gladiator” – or for games’ enthusiasts – one of the chapters of the Assassin’s Creed saga.
The perfect conditions of its imposing walls and towers or its cobbled streets make this place look like a travel back in time to the 13th century, when Florence and Siena were at war.
Monteriggioni sits in a strategic position between the two dominant cities and it is easy to understand why they had to build high walls and 14 towers to protect the small town.
The ancient inhabitants even got to the point of surrounding the outside perimeter with coal that would be lit in case of attack.
During this Take your time to visit the small shops selling products manufactured by locals or walk along the walls (there is a recently added walkway) and catch glances of the beautiful countryside.
Then jump back on the car and head to the Chianti hills, passing by the many vineyards, olive trees, cypresses that make this scenery unique.
You will stop soon to a local winery where you will be visiting the cellars where production and ageing process of Chianti wines takes place.
Here you will receive an in-depth explanation by a wine expert and you will be able to taste up to 4 kind of wine, with the opportunity to purchase and ship the Tuscan wines at a great price.
The next and final stop on this itinerary will be the stunning city of Siena, famous for its Palio, brick buildings, towers, squares and local products.
You will see the Cathedral, the Mangia Bell Tower and the Palazzo Pubblico in Piazza del Campo, the famous location where twice every year since 1656 the famous Palio horse race takes place.
During this Chianti Tour from Florence you will have free time to wander around and get to know this amazing city and its 17 contrade (the areas of the city that compete for the Palio).
